Wendy, our 2009 GA winner!
Wendy is the Assistant Director of Administration for NYU’s Graduate Programs in Education and Judaic Studies. A Wexner Fellow/Davidson Scholar and a Wagner Public Service Scholar, Wendy is finishing her MPA in Nonprofit Managment/Finance and MA in Hebrew and Judaic Studies at NYU and expects to graduate in May 2010.
What does Wendy have to say about winning and choosing projects to support? In her own words….
“Upon returning home from the hubbub of the GA, I was surprised and delighted to receive a voicemail informing me that I was the winner of the JGooders raffle. The prize? $1000 to donate to the cause of my choice on www.jgooders.com. I checked out the website and was impressed by the number and variety of worthy causes posted there. Ultimately, I decided to split my voucher evenly between two projects: Yad Ezra v’Shulamit: Feeding Israel’s Hungry Children and Magen David Adom: Red Bag of Courage. I chose Yad Ezra v’Shulamit because I wanted to do something to alleviate hunger, and I loved the idea that recipients could enjoy the weekly food baskets in the privacy and comfort of their own homes. I selected Magen David Adom because it is an organization I have admired for many years, and I wanted to support people who are saving lives every day in Israel. I am honored and humbled to have been given this beautiful gift – the opportunity to direct funds to two inspirational and important causes that serve so many people in Israel. Thank you, JGooders!”
More about JGooders participation in the GA coming soon – stay tuned for pictures, updates and more.
